The Powerful Ingredients of Indian Kitchen

Every nation is proud of their culture and tradition. Likewise every community is proud of their cuisines and ingredients. Without the combination of certain ingredients it doesn’t make up a healthy diet or a tasteful food. Like traditions kept alive to this day, certain powerful ingredients are introduced into our kitchen by our elders.

To keep traditions in use and pass it on to another generation is quite important. And hence let’s find out some powerful ingredients that are quite useful in our day to day activities that keep us healthy and fit.

Turmeric: Turmeric is known to heal and build in immunity upon consumption. Turmeric has such a strong property it is used to even heal wounds in olden days and in fact to date.

Found in many Indian cooking’s, especially another prepared for dinner or lunch, stew or curries are added with turmeric powder for its enormous health benefits. Turmeric can be added to pickles, spice powder and many other Indian recipes.

Cardamom: Cardamom is a known aromatic sweet spice. It is used mostly for Indian Sweet dishes, desserts and snack items. Even a famous Indian Elachi Chai can make you get lost in its taste and aroma. Cardamom is known to aid in digestion. They can also be used in Lassie, Biryani and is part of great Indian whole garam masala.

Cinnamon: Another Indian aromatic spice is used in Indian dishes and do not wonder if you get to know it can even be used in fragrances. Cinnamon used to many baked items, tea, Indian cuisines for its aromatic and tasty flavor. It is basically a bark of a cinnamon tree. Do not be surprised it is used as it is into Indian pickles. It is known to give power of memory if eaten daily.

Fenugreek: Fenugreek is a powerful dry ingredient in Indian kitchen. It can even be used in pickles and buttermilk to drink. It is known to keep cholesterol in check if a spoonful is taken daily. Its powder is used in curries very profoundly.

Coriander: Coriander powder is very often used in chutneys, curries, pickles and to even make masala chilli powder. It is known to aid in quick digestion and keep cholesterol in check.
